Our Mission

At Ritmo y Apoyo, our mission is to honor the spirit of Quisqueya by standing in solidarity with the communities who sustain its culture. We partner with local leaders, artists, and educators in Las Terrenas—and in collaboration with MetaMovements—to support grassroots programs that blend education, art, and opportunity.

It all began with a community-led literacy program created for children who are excluded from the formal school system due to barriers of documentation, economics, or legal status. Over time, that effort grew through the support of neighbors and artists who saw its potential. With the help of Julie from MetaMovements, and local dancers Frank and Luis Mario, the program expanded to include dance as a powerful tool for confidence, creativity, and connection. Today, these classes not only help children learn to read and write—they help them express themselves, move with pride, and build valuable life skills through the arts.

Through Ritmo y Apoyo, we help sustain this collaborative work and ensure it continues to thrive. Our donations directly support literacy and empowerment initiatives for children, as well as emergency and professional development resources for local dancers and artists—the cultural bearers who keep the rhythms of Quisqueya alive.

We believe that those who benefit from Dominican culture—whether through dance, music, or travel—have both a responsibility and a beautiful opportunity to give back. Guided by dignity, consistency, and love, we aim to build bridges of support that uplift individuals and strengthen the heartbeat of Dominican culture for generations to come.
